Dear Editor, MY heart goes out to the family of the boy who is in a coma after falling into a manhole at a resort in Malacca.

One can never be too careful and resorts must make sure that their amenities are in tip-top condition to avoid tragedies due to carelessness.

Safety is not taken seriously by those in charge. We often hear and read about people involved in fatal accidents after using sub standard facilities at resorts.

I hope the child will recover and get well soon. As long we have an insolent attitude towards public safety, more accidents will occur due to poor enforcement.
