THE die is cast. With the resignation of Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, the public should let the matter rest and allow him to continue with his private life in peace.

By taking full responsibility for his indiscretions, the former health minister is showing a good example of what accountability and responsibility means to other leaders.

It is sad to see him fall from grace, not because of corruption but because of sexual misconduct as the minister had worked hard to improve the health service for the benefit of the common people who seek such service in public hospitals and clinics.

I hope his replacement can fill his big shoes and carry on with his plans to improve the health service to world-class standards.
