Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I FULLY agree with reader Marina Lynn Martin who described her experience in “Lost trust in postal service” (letters, Jan 7). I have had numerous encounters with the postal service where I never received any items posted to me from overseas. Last year I lodgeda complaint with the postal department and the reply I got is that the problem could bewith the postal service or customs and they would not be able to trace the parcels.
Late last November, my brother-in-law in Britain posted me a letter giving me theitinerary of his and his wife’s arrival in Malaysia. That letter has never reached me. He is so disgusted with the mail that he is contemplating coming to Kuala Lumpur and confronting the postal officials on all the mails that he has sent which never reached me.
Recently another sister in Britain posted a cookery magazine to me from the US. Guess what, it has been almost three weeks at this writing and that has also not reached me.
I am deeply embarrassed about this because this seems to be a norm with our postal service and most of us have lost faith in the postal system.
