Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I REFER to “There’s hope for Malaysia - thanks to selfless folk” (The Star, Jan 7) and agree that there are still Malaysians out there who will go out of their way to help their fellow countrymen.
I would like to thank the three gentlemen who helped my elderly father one afternoon in December 2007.
My father’s Proton Waja had stalled near Ampang Jaya and a Malay gentleman kindly offered to call his mechanic to attend to the car. He waited a while with my father, but then had to go on his way.
Seeing how dangerous it was for my parents to be standing in the middle of the road by the stalled car, a Chinese gentleman stopped to help push the car to the side of the road with the help of another Malay man who was driving just behind.
The Chinese gentleman then drove my parents home.
To these three gentlemen, I want to say a big “Thank You”, which I should have done so much earlier.
SAM,
Ampang, Selangor.
