SYABAS to Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin for banning the use of spiced-up Bahasa Malaysia by RTM Chinese and Indian drama actors (”RTM bans use of spiced-up Bahasa Malaysia”).
Unfortunately, it is sad to note his last remark about Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.
He said RTM was not obliged to use all terms provided by the language institute which could sometimes create confusion and difficulty for the public. What a shame.
Dewan Bahasa was established by the government 53 years ago to be the sole guardian of the national language. Its goal is to boost the language in terms of grammar, spelling and language development.
