Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I AM a pensioner and only last July we had a rise in our pensions, but the Land Office in Port Dickson took this as an opportunity to increase their coffers.
The house that I am staying in was brought with a government loan 30 years ago. Before year 2006 the quit rent was RM44 per year, it was increased to RM70 the following year, a 59% increase.
But this year 2008, 1 would have to pay RM92, making an increase of 109% since year 2006. Can the Land Office keep increasing the quit rent so often?
The Government is trying to bring down the cost of living but the Land Office is doing the opposite. Where can I find a remedy?
PATRICK,
Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan.
