I REFER to the letter by Marina Lynn Martin of Petaling Jaya (”No faith in parcel services” - NST, Jan 9).

I depend a lot on the postal services for my business. Unfortunately, the postman who delivers items to Bandar Botanic, Klang, is not reliable.

My mail is left half-hanging out of the letter box. When it rains, you know what happens to my mail.

Some of them are cheques from customers. Banks do not accept cheques with ink-smear. Why is it so hard to push mail into my letter box?

When my catalogues arrive from overseas suppliers, the postman leaves them on my gate. I am sure the slot in my letter box is big enough for him to push them in.

However. I must salute the postman in SS3 Petaling Jaya. He must be one of those servicemen who deserve to be promoted to service quality manager.

The letter box in my mother’s house is a small box hanging on the gate. When the mail is too big to fit into the box, he rings the door bell and informs my mother.

I urge Pos Malaysia to improve its services. Just because there are no other services to compete with Pos Malaysia, it doesn’t mean they can ignore our grouses.

Y.L. TAN, Klang
