Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I HAVE been a taxpayer for 30 years. Every ringgit I earned was shared with the Inland Revenue Board.
However, the IRB does not seem to have a thought for citizens who abide by the rules. I am referring to my tax refunds for 2005 and 2006, a small amount of RM2,256, which I have not received till today.
I have written five emails to IRB chief executive Datuk Hasmah Abdullah and she replied to two.
However, no result was evident. No refund was received despite her assurance that the 2005 refund would be looked into by her officers.
I have read in her reports to the media that big refunds have been executed, but not my small amount.
I have received the BE form for last year’s assessment. I fear that filling it in will merely mean another year of refund that I will not see.
