ANOTHER child has been kidnapped? What is happening? How can this happen? I can ask a million questions and I am sure I can never get a single answer.

Before the murder of Nurin Jazlin Jazimin could be solved the kidnapping of Sharlinie Mohd Nasyar has to happen.

I think the only way to remove this menace is to compel all parents to implant a tracking device on all newborn babies until they reach the age of 20.

After that, the wearer can opt to carry on using the device or have it removed by a simple surgery. It may seem comical and unnecessary but I think it will pay off at the end of the day.

Parents or anyone else cannot supervise children round the clock. Blaming the parents is not the answer.

The police must form a special task force to tackle child-kidnapping cases.

They must give priority to patrolling urban communities especially in areas where many children can be found like schools and playgrounds. In times of emergency, it is right for a patrol car to zoom along. At other times, they should move at a speed of 30kph-40kph.

I hope Sharlinie is found alive and well soon. My heart goes to her parents who must be worried sick about the loss of their beloved child.

MOHD GHAZALI OSMAN,

Ipoh, Perak.
