I REFER the letter Give unethical welfare officer the boot in the The Star, Jan 10.
I’d like to add that giving the boot is not enough if what the poor old man Lim alleged is true.
I think the police would have to step in because it looks and smell like there is an element of criminal breach of trust (CBT). It is very easy to identify the person who withdrew Lim’s hard earned money.
I am no investigator, but I guess the bank can assist - through the CCTV - the person, date and time of the transaction so that the truth can be revealed.
