Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I REFER to Put off by dirty ways of high-rise residents in The Star, Jan 10. This blatant lack of consideration for others and other uncivil behaviour can be found everywhere in our daily life in the country.
I’ve witnessed people clearing rubbish out of their flats as well as from moving cars, and teachers leading pupils on field trips littering.
Our textbooks nowadays do not contain lessons that teach good manners, obedience, and civic consciousness among other things.
Worse still, our teachers are only interested in feeding pupils with facts and figures that will help them score A’s in examinations. So, you get high achievers and so-called bright students with no social consideration and civic consciousness.
It is high time our educators re-examined the school curriculum and subject matters in textbooks.
CIVIC MINDED,
Kuantan
