Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I HAVE had a maid for over six years and have always bought insurance for her at a premium of RM55 per annum.
Thus, I am disappointed by yet another attempt to make it mandatory for employers to buy from only the Takaful Insurance scheme.
The Takaful scheme, at an annual premium of RM75, is more expensive. I am grateful to the Association of Foreign Housemaids Agencies for voicing their objections.
Every employer should have his own say on what insurance to buy and which insurance company to choose for his maid. What the government requires is for all employers to have their maids’ insurance cover policy. This, I believe, is simple and easy to do.
