IT is interesting to note that the police and Road Transport Department (RTD) are making full use of the ICT facilities available in this country.

Commit any traffic offence in any part of Malaysia, the police and RTD will be able to trace you and hand over the summons.

Why not the Health Ministry and Education Ministry?

The Education Ministry should record online a child’s particulars from the very first day he or she is registered.

Their records should be updated until they finish Form Five or even Form Six.

By doing this, we are not only helping the parents and pupils but also the teachers who are bogged down with paper work.

It will also allow the Ministry and Education Department to monitor all their blueprints and programmes.

Meanwhile, wouldn’t it be worthwhile to have medical records stored online so that it will be help if a patient is treated or warded at a hospital out of town? Or so that quick reference can be made to help a patient?

At the same time, the Health Ministry will also be able to check if patients give false information. There could be cases where someone who is infected with a serious ailment that can be detrimental to others makes a false declaration at another hospital.
