Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I WENT back to Penang recently and had to rely a lot on public transport, particularly the bus service operated by Rapid Penang, to travel from Tanjong Bungah to Pulau Tikus and to the city centre.
I found the Rapid Penang service to be very good. The driver on Bus 104, plying the route, was helpful and courteous.
The bus itself was clean and comfortable. It was also punctual. I would say the service was up to the standard of bus services in London and Sydney.
The fare was also reasonable, and I understand that senior citizens get a 50% discount.
The introduction of Rapid Penang has also lifted the standard of service of other bus companies on the island.
Penangites should be proud of Rapid Penang as it has set a new standard for public transportation that many cities in the world would love to have.
