Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
RECENTLY I visited a cousin staying in the women’s hostel in Universiti Malaya and was shocked to find wild monkeys everywhere. I learned from my cousin that this was a problem the students faced daily.
The monkeys mess up their stuff and also sometimes steal their belongings and clothing. The girls would be late for classes as often the monkeys would be in the bathrooms and also along the stairs and corridors.
Not only are these monkeys disrupting their daily life, but also pose a health hazard as there is a possibility of human beings contracting diseases from monkeys and vice versa.
This is a major problem and it would be heartening if the monkeys could be moved to a habitat more suitable for them.
The students staying at Kolej 3 have made numerous complaints but these have fallen on deaf ears.
