Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
IT was about 11pm on Saturday and there was an accident involving a Malay woman motorcyclist and a Perodua Kancil not far from the Batu Caves Giant hypermarket.
Before that, I saw several Indian youths running from a nearby temple towards the road.
The first thing that crossed my mind was that there must be a gang fight somewhere.
But I was wrong as I realised that they were helping to carry the motorcyclist to the road shoulder.
Her forehead was bleeding and she was taken to a clinic by the driver of the Perodua Kancil.
What moved me that night was the way the youths rendered assistance without even thinking of the danger posed by on-coming traffic.
Luckily, traffic was light at that time.
Another perfect example that Malaysians are colour-blind when it comes to helping fellow Malaysians in their time of need.
Indeed, muhibah is alive and well in Malaysia.
