Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I TRAVEL often to Parit Buntar from Sitiawan. The PLUS highway is the nearest to get there via the Bandar Baharu exit. From there, it’s a nightmare. It is not advisable to travel at night, especially if you have poor eyesight.
There are many streetlights but none works. We can barely make out the road even with the car lights switched on.
You would be amazed by the number of villagers who take risks by riding motorcycles with malfunctioning rear lights.
The villagers say accidents are common in this area.
The authorities have not taken action to solve this problem which has been in this state for more than a year. Several robberies have also taken place here at night as the robbers just love this dark environment.
Why are these streetlights not working?
Besides that, the road to Parit Buntar is also bumpy. Add to this the problem of the traffic lights in front of the Bandar Baharu toll gate. To this day, no one has seen it work. Who is responsible for this poor road system which is causing inconvenience to the public?
