Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
We refer to the complaint from Marina Lynn Martin of Petaling Jaya entitled “Lost trust in postal service” (theSun, Jan 7).
For your information, the packet received by Martin was delivered in good condition to Martin’s home address.
Martin also confirmed that she was not at home when the packet was delivered and a family relation had accepted the packet on her behalf.
The packet was said to have contained clothes, chocolate bars and a Nintendo DS. Martin claimed that Pos Malaysia is liable for the missing Nintendo DS on the grounds that she found the tape tampered with (folded on one end) on receipt of the packet on Jan 2.
We received the packet for examination on Jan 18. However, upon close inspection, there is insufficient evidence to examine Martin’s claims that the packet has been tampered with whilst in Pos Malaysia’s handling.
This is because the packet has gone through several processing stages from the point of posting in the US to Malaysia and this also includes the customs departments in both countries.
Under Pos Malaysia’s policy, a packet is treated as normal mail and is not eligible for any claims for loss or damage.
Likewise, under the service terms and conditions of the US Postal Services (USPS), liability is only restricted to loss or damage claims for items sent via Registered First Class Mail International, Registered Priority Mail International flat rate envelope and Insured Priority Mail International whereby the item’s reference number begins with the letters CA-CC and CE-CZ (from the customs declaration form), Collect on Delivery (COD) and Express Mail service items.
Based on the above information, we would like to inform you that the packet received by Martin has the reference number beginning with the letters LC (from the customs declaration form) and therefore is not eligible for any compensation claims.
With regards to our explanation as above, Martin has agreed for her gifts to be returned to her on Jan 22.
We would like to advise all customers who wish to deliver valuable items to consider other more secure options that provide secure delivery service such as registered mail and insured mail that is provided by postal administrators worldwide, including Pos Malaysia and USPS.
Pos Malaysia will strive to provide the best and most convenient service to our customers. Thus, we value the feedback and suggestions from our customers in order to improve and enhance the quality of our services.
We also welcome all customers to contact our Customer Service Centre through PosLine at 1-300-300-300 from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm, Monday to Saturday (except on the first Saturday of the month) should they have any suggestions or comments.

That is one of the lousiests explanation I have ever seen! Instead of apologising and taking steps to ensure it does not happen again, they are telling customers not to use their services!

Being aggressive is good in management but being defensive is another behaviour. Never consider that this joke is read by the public. Too proud to get this settle, dun know what is customer service??

What I don’t understand is, don’t Pos Malaysia realize that people are complaining about missing items, missing parcel and yet they come up with no credible answer. I understand that there’s maybe 1 or 2 thieves in their service, but Pos Malaysia has to identify the 1 or 2. They must! And the monitoring has to be done 24/7, 365 days a year, especially with overseas mail. It’s not like they receive obscene amount of overseas’ mail daily to begin with.
Secure tracking is also meaningless if items in the parcel goes missing, not the whole thing.
I’ve had the misfortune of losing one of my mail this week, and it’s a recorded UK Royal post. I know it’s less than RM100 in value, but those thieves in Pos Malaysia think that it’s valuable enough to steal.
Most of the items missing I’ve read in the internet is the one they can use personally, like clothings, games, and money. I know it’s stupid to send money thru mail, but Pos Malaysia in the first place, should not employ THIEVES.

Ryan,
Please write a letter to all the newspapers. We need to highlight this issue until a comprehensive action is taken by Pos Malaysia, the pengarahs and the employees.
Currently, we are always behind Brazil and Indonesia in “we do not post to these countries due to missing items in mail” item descriptions in ebay.
Sad, isnt it to think that the employees in Pos Malaysia or Kastam are on the same level with their contemporaries in Brazil & Indonesia?

OMG! Why I did not pick this news up sooner?!?! I just losted a 320Gig IDE Harddisk costed me RM250 mailed from UK Royal Mail. My item’s reference number start with LY …. dammit! >< I don’t even realised my parcel had been delivered 3 weeks ago according to their claim.
I made my own tracing with phone starting at my local, and eventually end up to call at KL. Some said my parcel never came thru or had been delivered to the location where I lived or they had no such item reference in their system and told me to tell my local guy use manual search since the item was from international.
My search end up to where they gave me a postman’s phone number who was responsible delivered my parcel. According to the postman said he lefted it in my mailbox at around 10am but the parcel did not completely go into mailbox and stuck there. He also said he been told must deliever the parcel immediately and not to bring it back to office.
I can’t believe it that he allowed a parcel left there visible to others.

Tori Spelling is seen her hanging out with her husband Dean as they get a break from the babies to go to La Scala in Beverly Hills for lunch. Isn t that the sweetest? I guess given the ever-present Miu Miu dress Tori must be having some issues losing the baby weight, perhaps someone should tell her that a La Scala lunch isn t going to help her much there. At least she is keeping her blonde locks maintained in a way that is most practical for new baby mamas. Tori has this season s look down, with cropped locks that are easy to manage, and far away from little grabbing fingers. I think a more polished look would work with her here though, perhaps with some extra time with the flat iron and some glossing serum for some extra polish. I mean, if you don t get out much, and finally get some time for a nice lunch with your hubby, you really deserve to spend a little extra time looking all gussied up for him.

My boyfriend and I want to go on a awesome vacation soon. We were looking for suggestions. Anyone have any great spots? A means to save some cash would be nice as well. Traveling is expensive these days.

We traveled to Fiji last month. It was an amazing vacation. We stayed at this nice little Bungalow called the Beach Sands. But, if your looking to save cash, it’s a very expensive flight. Another option is Puerto Vallarta, I have a amazing time everytime I go. As far as saving cash, I don;t know for sure, we always go with expeida or travelocity. My cousin tells me that he usually saves a ton of cash on his vacations. I’ll ask him how he does it.

That is not only the lousiest explanantion from POS MALAYSIA-TIDAK BOLEH-but what a load of cobllers to wash their hands off the issue.
POS Malaysia is the last to handle-they admitted they had handle and delivered- so they are RESPONSIBLE.
If the morons at POS MALAYSIA -TIDAK BOLEH- dont have it already, they should THINK out of a sysytem where any damaged items arriving at their first point of contact in Malaysia are are recored as damaged and the amount of damage- so that the balme could be apportioned to correct point.
ASsPOS MALAYSIA does not have such system- they should apologise and make good ANY loss in this instance, unless they can provide evidence that they have such a system operating from the last three years.
Tiap tiap kali, I am amazed at the load of BS explanatuions that the organisations come with when customers complain- it only goes on to prove that they TAK BOLEH be professional and accountable and admit they have faulted!Shame on such staff as ROHAIZA HASHIM who may have been sitting too long on her posterior burning the seat of the chair trying to copy out such an irrelevent response as above.
Shame shame TAK BOLEH professional and accountable.

I started this thread to speak about public available web proxies:
Which are really anonymous?
Which can unblock facebook, myspace etc, in other words: are fresh ?
Which would you recommend?
Thanks for your help,
Dschibut
P.S.: In my country, the freedom of speech is somehow constrained, please give me a hint, if you are not sure about your recommendation.
