Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
AUSTRALIAN Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s televised apology to the Aborigines is so refreshing.
We have become almost nauseated with inflated egos of so many political leaders. Sorry is almost non-existent in their vocabulary and even if it’s uttered, it is not out of sincerity.
An apology is a sign of weakness to them, but not so to Rudd. His sincerity made many teary eyed, including myself.
Many felt relief and a sense of healing is on its way. The apology was a sign of strength and a humane thing to do.
As we face the general election in our beloved country, let all politicians be reminded that they are merely human and also subjected to errors. But to say sorry, genuinely and truthfully, could help ordinary Malaysians be more forgiving, thus healing every hurt and mistake said and done.

Kuala Lumpur.

What Prime Minister Rudd did was unprecedented and should be emulated by many world governments that has applied force to trample on the poor and the weak. I had a great sense of admiration for this man who exuded humility and sincerity during an interview I watched over YouTube before his ascension to become the premier of Australia. His knowledge of Mandarin will put even the Chinese to shame. A great leader is one who ALL citizens look up to. The Australian aborigines has someone who inspite of a different complexion and of obvious superior lineage decide otherwise that they too are human who deserve equal treatment and opportunity. Let Kevin Rudd set a new political standard that all nations look up to. There is certainly no shame to admit a mistake because it takes a great man to humble himself.
