ISN’T it time we begin to recruit more male teachers? We must have them as there are far too many women in the teaching profession.

It is said that a male teacher matters to children especially those who had no father figure at home. To go to school that has a male authority figure and who treats them respectfully can make a huge difference in their lives.

Although gender doesn’t matter in most cases, some children, especially boys, connect more with male teachers.

This isn’t a new phenomenon.

According to statistics recently released in the United States, men made up just 24.4% of the total number of teachers

We must try to reverse the gender imbalance, perhaps through other incentives to become teachers.
