Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
Dear Editor, I REFER to your article on Tuesday, ‘Yes, she’s been saved’.
I was shocked to read about the female doctor with Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital who wanted to commit suicide by jumping off the hospital building. It was also reported that the doctor was believed to have health problems. I am glad that the Fire and Rescue Department managed to rescue her. I wonder why she wanted to end her life in that way. Perhaps something serious led her to believe that her only option was to commit suicide. It may also have been that she did not have anybody to talk to. It is unhealthy to keep problems to yourself all the time. We need to share our problems with others to help deal with stress. It is also important for bosses to get to know their employees and to help them if they are going through difficult times. Kudos to the hospital’s management for pledging to help the doctor overcome her problems.
