DATUK Mohd Zaid Ibrahim has been chosen to take up the post of minister in the Prime Minister’s Department to restore the people’s confidence in the judiciary.
It is encouraging to note that Zaid is held in high enough esteem to tackle this hot potato. Even the Bar Council has approved this appointment.
Zaid has been appointed a senator to take up this post. Had he been allowed to defend the seat he held, and won it, such a circuitous route to a cabinet post would not have been necessary.
