Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
WITH reference to Chong Cheng Swee’s complaint about cybercafes (”Who lets in the underage kids?” - NST, March 21), I agree that cybercafes must not allow underage kids into their premises and enforcement officers should make inspections.
I would like to stress the role of parents in providing their children with access to modern technology, such as computers.
With computers now at affordable prices and various incentives to buy computers, there should be no more cases of underage children visiting cybercafes.
Children tend to have an interest in playing games on their computers.
Many spend time playing with their friends online while staying at home.
Parents should provide computers for their children if they do not want them to frequent cybercafes or mix with the wrong crowd.
