AN apology to former lord president Tun Salleh Abas and to the other judges on their controversial sacking in the 1988 judicial crisis is better late than never.

By apologising, the responsible party shows that it is prepared to swallow its pride and is mature enough to make amends.

The biggest mistake is to play the blame game or search for a scapegoat on which to dump all responsibility so as to excuse one’s actions; it is a cowardly act.
