Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
AT this time of the year annually, the Chinese community pays its respect to the dead by visiting the graves of its dearly departed. A massive flow of human traffic and vehicles jams the major roads of Penang leading to these graveyards, especially Lebuhraya Halia, Mt Erskine and the adjacent roads.
Many of these roads are then manned by the so-called “jaga kereta” boys who blatantly collect “fees” for parking in these housing areas.
In an emergency it would be near-impossible for anyone to get out of this jam because these “jaga kereta” boys are busy collecting fees, often by stopping vehicles at the traffic lights
We hope the Penang traffic police will step in to remedy this situation. We hope to see some improvement soon for the good of the people.
