Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I AM using my sister-in-law’s car. She is away studying in the United States. I renewed the road tax in January 2008 for a year and now the printing on the road tax disc has faded to a point of being illegible.
I went to the Road Transport Department (JPJ) office which issued this road tax disc with the road tax stub to get a new disc but instead, I was told to get my sister-in-law to fill in some forms, get them verified by a JPJ officer and resubmit the forms for a new road tax disc.
Why can’t the issuing JPJ office issue a new disc? They are the ones who issued it in the first place. I am positive they have records of the vehicle as well as the stub number to verify whatever information they need.
Why do they need to complete form JPJK7 (Pin.1/04) in duplicate? We are in the IT age. The JPJ has all the data they need at their fingertips and they can even do data filling, yet they need forms.
