Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
Dear Editor, I REFER to the front-page story ‘Green lung havoc’
published in The Malay Mail yesterday.
What is happening to our ecological system? Our forest are gradually being turned in- to concrete jungles. The environment is our life-support system. Bees and other insects pol- linate plants so that they can reproduce and keep the cycle going. They also maintain the health of plants and spread their seeds. The processes that take place in the wild are extremely complex and vulnerable. If humans cause the extinc- tion of one species, it could result in the extinction of other species and lead to the decline of our life-support system. It ’s important for us to look after our ecological system. We cannot take it for granted. It must be cared for or we will have to face the con- sequences. The beauty, diversity and wonder of nature is humanity’s physical link with God. Protect our environment for a better future. Georgiana Shah Alam
