Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
IT has been reported that metal thieves blacked out almost the entire state of Sabah on Monday by removing metal pieces from a transmission tower which could probably be worth about RM40 in scrap value.
What happened in Sabah could also happen in Peninsular Malaysia.
In the past, there were attempts by vandals and thieves to remove metal pieces from transmission towers and sell them as scrap metal.
What happened in Sabah should serve as a reminder to our power authorities and others that we need to take steps to beef up security at all our transmission towers. This is to prevent similar occurrences which can cause havoc not only to the public but also have serious implications for our economy.
