Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
MY wife and I are recent pensioners and have no taxable income. We do, however, receive dividends from investments in some companies listed on Bursa Malaysia.
We both submitted our e-tax filing on April 2.
I went to the Inland Revenue Board’s Seremban branch on April 4 to submit the original dividend vouchers declared in Form HK3 to claim the tax refund which I expected, at the earliest, in two months as reported by the IRB.
What happened next must be a record. We got our tax refund by post on April 23 and the cheques were dated April 18.
It took the IRB just two weeks, to be exact 10 working days, to process and hand over our tax refund.
A big thank you to the IRB for their efficiency.
