Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I THINK former Selangor menteri besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo relishes his new role as the opposition leader in the state.
Lately, he has been trying to score points against the current administration by purporting to oppose issues that, according to him, are not beneficial to the rakyat.
He also reminded the new exco members to declare their assets, something his own government never did.
He even suggested that the newly-elected speaker, Teng Chang Khim, should have been made an exco member because of his capabilities and experience.
Ironically, he conveniently forgot that his administration had suspended Teng without pay for 18 months.
Lest he forgets, during his tenure as MB, many “wrong” things were done at the whim of his officers, with or without his blessings, despite opposition by the people.
Notably, local authorities were behaving like warlords with impunity.
His government was deaf to the pleas of the people and on March 8, the people spoke loud and clear.
For a man who declared that he wanted zero opposition in Selangor, he finds himself out of a job and is now the opposition.
