Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
SELANGOR Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that house and property assessment rates in Selangor would not be reduced as promised during the election campaign. He has given various reasons for this. Therefore, we in Selangor request the state government to consider an alternative move and work towards reducing next year’s rates.
Conversely, raising assessment rates must never be contemplated. This is in view of the current increases in the price of food and other goods and services.
The MB should also direct local government authorities not to impose a five per cent fine for late payment of assessment rates.
Consideration should be given to residents who have a good record of paying assessment rates on time.
