English schools: Avoid regression
26May2008 NSTPARENTS and teachers have expressed their concern over reports that the Education Ministry may be thinking of reverting to teaching Science and Mathematics in Bahasa Malaysia. It will be a sad day if this indeed comes to pass.
I would urge the policymakers not to give in to pressure to go back to using Bahasa Malaysia.
In fact, I think we should also consider teaching other subjects in English if we want to produce students who can cope with the pressures and competition of the global village.
