I WENT to Kepong TM Point to apply for Streamyx Combo plan on April 23.

On April 26 and April 27, I received several phone calls asking whether I would like to upgrade the combo plan from Plan 3 to either 4 or 5. I was advised that Plan 4 or 5 would be suitable for VPN access.

On April 28, I waited for over an hour to see a customer service personnel. To my surprise, I was told that to change back to Combo 3, it would take me two weeks despite my appeal to have it installed as soon as possible so I could have the service by May 2.

My biggest shock was that my application was with a Streamyx agent, and my modem was in his possession.

I have written to TM headquarters asking why my application, made at TM Point, was in the hands of an agent.

Now for the installation of the phone line. The phone cable was already in place since we were only resuming our phone service after a long stint away from home. The technician who came charged me RM30 for his services. When I enquired about the RM50 on the TM Point receipt for “Pemasangan”, I was told it was a different thing altogether.

How many installation charges does one have to pay to reconnect the phone line?
