Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
THE move to stop the sale of fuel to foreign cars is a good move, but here in Johor Baru, we need to have Singapore motorists to come into Johor Baru to shop, holiday and boost our economy. Without them, Johor Baru is dead.
All Singapore-registered cars coming into Johor must have their fuel tanks three-quarters full at minimum.
This indicates that Singaporeans or Malaysians, working in Singapore driving Singapore-registered cars, are genuine tourists or residents in Johor Baru.
Along the Malaysian-Thai border, Thais come in with near-empty tanks to fill up. They also fill up cans to take back to Thailand. This is profiteering at our expense.
This should not be allowed at all.
I strongly support the government’s move to stop the sale of subsidised fuel to foreign drivers but definitely not in Johor.
