Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
IT has been barely three months since coming into power and the Pakatan Rakyat state government in Selangor is discovering and revealing various abuses of the previous administration.
The state government should be contented with not only revealing abuses of its predecessor but should also be bold enough to take legal action against the perpetrators if there is sufficient evidence.
The former government leaders had the audacity to do what they did just because they thought that any wrongdoing on their part would be hushed up.
God knows how much evidence of wrongdoings was destroyed on the night of March 8 when the previous administration was voted out of office.
Like its counterparts in Penang, the new administration found to its dismay government offices with empty shelves and lots of shredded documents.
However, the “culprits” still left behind many skeletons in the closet in their haste to leave.
Let us hope in time, more wrongdoings of the previous administration will be exposed.
It has now come to light that all 54 Barisan Nasional representatives in the previous Selangor state government managed to use up a combined allocation of RM27 million for this year in just two months before the elections.
Even the Sultan of Selangor was shocked by the revelation. The former MB says he has proof that the money was well spent to help the people.
The present state government should demand for the proof and see if the money really went to those who really deserved such monetary aid.
Also, the previous administration has been involved in some mega projects costing millions which are now under-utilised.
