Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
IT appears that the integrity of some postal department staff is in question in view of the case where a person who had ordered a computer found his parcel empty.
This complaint brought memories of what happened to me four years ago.
My daughter in the United States sent me a moonstone locket by registered post. However, I was not home when the postman came.
My 90-year-old mother told me the postman had come and asked her to sign for a parcel. After signing, he told her to collect the package from the post office.
When I asked for the receipt, she said the postman had not given her one. I went to the post office in Jalan Sultan and was dismayed to see my mother’s signature stating she had received the package.
Last year, I sent my mother’s funeral pictures to my son in Singapore. The envelope with the photos was returned to me in a plastic envelope as the back part was ripped open. A printout on the plastic envelope said it was received in that condition. My trust in our postal system has eroded.
