Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
IT was cruel and unnecessary of the landlady to demolish the two houses she had rented to an elderly man, Ishak Salleh, and his family for the past 36 years just because he had defaulted on the rent.
What was even more shocking was that the landlady was his niece (”Niece evicts them by tearing down houses” — NST, June 23).
It is hoped that a good Samaritan, a non-governmental organisation or the state Welfare Department will look into the family’s affairs and provide aid as it is now living in a canvas tent.
