Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I AM perplexed with the written answer given by the minister of the energy, water and communications with regard to the question by Charles Santiago on the actual cost incurred for water cut and reconnection.
For a simple task that only take less than a minute to cut and reconnect, a charge of RM50 imposed by Syabas is extremely high. I really don’t understand how the RM79.60 cost is derived at. I have personally seen how the technician conducted the cut and reconnection which took him less than a minute for each task by just turning the screw by using an Allen key.
The only cost that I can think of, apart from the monthly salary is the petrol used by the technician which I believe is negligible compared with the charges imposed on each cut and reconnection. A thorough study on the actual cost should be conducted and made known to the public.
