TAIPING recently saw a massive intelligence gathering by the police which led to the busting of cyber cafes which provide gambling services. This caught my attention and jolted me to the fact that a peaceful town like Taiping too has its vices.

The strategy that was used by the OCPD of Taiping, ACP Raja Musa Raja Razak, should be an example to other districts in the various states to wipe out modern day gambling activities. The police should be applauded for their strategy in liaising with police from other districts as undercover agents.

Besides this success, Raja Musa also came up with a brilliant idea for crowd control during the recent Taiping parliamentary and state seat elections. There were no untoward incidents.

Malaysian police need this kind of leadership. Thank you to the Taiping police for keeping us safe.
