Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
KUDOS to Ipoh City Council for setting up a motorcycle unit last year to pick up rubbish in the city.
This innovative move should be emulated by other city and municipal councils in the country.
Campaigns against littering should be revived and enforced vigorously in major towns and cities. This will be in tandem with the Visit Malaysia campaign currently being undertaken by the government.
City and municipal councils should be proactive and not wait for a directive from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government or the state governments to implement projects beneficial to the residents who are ratepayers.
In this regard, opinions or suggestions forwarded by residents individually or by residents’ associations should be given due attention by the local authorities.
