Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
WITH reference to Tam Yong Yee’s comments on the RM300,000 given to Olympic silver medallist Datuk Lee Chong Wei (”Chong Wei should donate the money” — NST, Aug 27), I feel Chong Wei deserved every sen of what he had received and should spend it the way he thinks best.
One should realise that apart from the rigours of physical training, Chong Wei also had to endure severe mental pressure and tribulation to win the silver medal.
I’m sure he doesn’t come from a well-to-do family and such a sum would go a long way towards helping him.
