WHO is Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam trying to kid, “MIC: It’s a mistake, Samy not owner of land” (Sept 5)? Had not this been highlighted by theSun, the land at the end of the day would revert to the beneficial owner, Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu.

Please note that MIC is the trustee for Samy Vellu and not Samy Vellu the trustee for MIC. To say that it is an administrative error on the part of the Petaling Land Office is ludicrous.

Even a lay person when given a land title would check to ensure that the land is in his name. It is far-fetched to believe MIC with its panel of lawyers could overlook this mistake.

It is probably another case of “closing one eye”.

Nevertheless, ownership aside, the land should be returned to the Tamil school.

It is inexcusable that the MIC should be the one to take away half the property of those whose welfare it should look after.

I congratulate Terence Fernandez and Citizen Nades on their crusade to fight corruption. Let this also be a warning to the Pakatan state governments to keep their commitment for a clean administration.
