Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
BATU Pahat is a thriving district, next only to Johor Baru in Johor. The textile industry is the largest in Malaysia and many famous brand names are household names from Batu Pahat. While the district has grown by leaps and bounds, the town’s infrastructure is struggling to keep pace.
Firstly, the never-ending flash floods near Kampung Johor and Taman Tanah Merah are worsening by the day. Every time a downpour occurs, Sekolah Kebangsaan Tengku Mariam is affected. So are houses in Jalan Jengkeng and Jalan Matahari.
Many owners have moved out and the abandoned houses are a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Secondly, the trunk roads like Jalan Rahmat and Jalan Sultanah have fissure-like cracks at many places, forcing motorists to be extra careful, especially at night.
Thirdly, many roads were turned into one-way streets and the lamp posts have been removed.
I appeal to the Batu Pahat District Council to constantly monitor the situation.
