Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I DON’T understand why some people are making a big fuss over the appointment of Low Siew Moi as the acting general manager of the Selangor State Development Corporation. The question of whether she is a Bumiputera or not should not arise, as there is no contravention of the Federal Constitution or Selangor state constitution.
It’s the government’s prerogative to appoint the right individual for the post. If Low is seen to be fit to hold the post, based on her seniority and experience, so be it.
It is immature of certain non-governmental organisations and political leaders to claim that the appointment challenges the credibility of a certain race.
As a thorough-bred Malaysian who wants to see Malaysia prosper, I do not wish to see cheap publicity stunts by certain quarters, especially desperate politicians, whose actions will derail the solid foundation that had been built by our forefathers. Let’s think Malaysian. How are we going to achieve Vision 2020 if we keep harping on trivial issues such as this?
We are a mature nation but some people are acting like kids. Do not go on championing just for the sake of championing. Think of the nation as a whole. This country is what it is today because of the solid cooperation of all the races and this is no mean feat.
We will be set back a few centuries if people continue to distrust one another just because of ethnicity.
