Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I REFER to the assurance of transparency in the A. Kugan investigation given by the deputy inspector-general of police (”We will bring culprits to book” — NST, Jan 28).
While Kugan’s family has my deepest sympathies over his death in yet unexplained circumstances, what we can do is to ensure there is no miscarriage of justice. We can count on the assurance of the deputy inspector-general of police that the case will be dealt with on its own merits.
Should there be foul play in the case, it should be exposed without fear or favour. Furthermore, in a situation such as this, everyone should take care not to turn it into a political or racial issue. The consequences would be disastrous.
Since a sensible course of action is assured, nobody should have any reason to get overly emotional but should let the law take its course.
