I am considering about taking FIS in Aimst. I'm from KL personally. I thought of going Aimst for a better environment to study. I might add in it is also because its cheaper then other degree in KL. But after what I read from this webpage, I felt disappointing with Aimst. The food, the laundry, the transport, the staff. The only good thing is if you're lucky you get a good lecturer that wont go off last minute and also the facilities provided of course. Is Aimst really that bad?

I've the idea of setting up a slimming salon since as a kid but I've better idea and thus, I set up a slimming university so that I can mass slim down thousands of malaysian.
I purposely want to let all student to walk long distance from one lecture hall to another under hot sun and rain (all other colleges and university have too much shelter, so no vitamin D from the sun, n not healthy)
I want to train the community to be tougher person, so I don't provide university van or buses, so that everyone got to walk 15 KM out before they can catch a public transport.
Ling Liong Sik is a transport minister, so he provide transport for TAR university student. I am building highways and tolls, so I will make them walk far to town before they can get a bus home thru' my highways.
That's why you hardly see any taxi going into Aimst Unv. b'cos I purposely encourage illegal taxi operator to operate there for me to get some kickback. If any student got rape, robbed or killed, their own business lah.
Finally, to slim down kilos, I strictly encourage spicy vegetarian food, day in day out. This is the best plan for my Aimst's slimming university.
Graduate from here will definitely be very tough, tougher than soldier and army force. No need to go for National Service, waste time n money at National Service.

Two important matter that Aimst must improve, seriously.
My daughter even under JPA scholarship almost give up her studies and come back to KL to pay for A-Level study and start everything again.
1) Transport - Aimst should have their own van if they can't afford to purchase buses. Even 20 years ago when I study at TAR college, I've lots of TARCIAN buses with systematic schedule for transport beside the public transport already available. Student don't mind paying for transport charges, but at Aimst, we cannot find transport even if we want to pay. For medical student, clinical years were hell, as you need to buy your own Kancil or even any old car which break down offen. If not, u can't go anywhere for training.
2) The food at Aimst need drastic improvement or change caterer. Here, student were force to take curry every day, even the nasi lemak in Pudu jail taste better. If you don't believe, just sublet some spaces to outside hawker or food stall. I'm sure the existing spicy monopolised stall will go bankrupt.
There must be competitor in food supplier. You can't just let one caterer monopolise. Any kickback, huh?
Other than these two problem, other small matter can cope with it. Don't staff the student to death in an isolated island!
Quality of lecturer and education at Aimst, strictly no problem.
Very good in fact, every hostel room got internet connection.

i am not a student there but i have two of my children there. Generally they are satisfied with the edu standard and the facilities available. Food is something that no two people will agree on always. Definetly the standard of food offered can be improved by just changing the caterers often so the students dont get sick of the same style of cooking.Another area the uni have to improve itself is the admin side it really sucks.I was told and assured about getting results posted to my home of my boys performances but even after calls and letters they dont respond.Maybe they forgot to include the charges for these when they calculated the fees, any way these are actually small matters considering the whole picture and comparing with the others. The price is good for the quality of education available ,food problems can be resolved by just eating outside whenever you feel like and it is quite cheap if you compare with other places if my children were to be studying in kuala lumpur or P J or Subang Jaya so is the lodging and transport . How about the other influences in the major towns and the cost. Are we going to complain that the price of just one small pack of nasi lemak with no chicken or chicken rice with a drink cost more than 6 ringgits in KL PJ & Subang Jaya.
I would just say outside is better, but you or your parents pay through thier noses for all this so you actually get less of these nonsence. In AIMST the charges for food and lodging is cheaper than what you would pay for lodging alone in the other towns . IF your parents can afford and the quality of edu is better than the wisest move is to find your self in other places of your choice. For me my children dont complain about the food anymore because they stay outside the campus now and one would be finishing their MBBS in less than 2 years from now till than WE believe AIMST is the best.
