Current issues, feedback & complaints on public services in Malaysia
I USE the Kesas Highway daily as I travel to work in Cheras from Klang. I leave home at 6.30am but never early enough to beat the jam.
In addition to putting up with the congestion at the Proton exit, I also have to endure the congestion when approaching the Subang Jaya/USJ exit. The queue jumpers hog almost all lanes before heading for the exit ramp to get to Subang Jaya/USJ.
Last year, Kesas placed plastic cones on the right lane to complement the contra flow (the timing was inconsistent) for KL bound traffic. When contra flow was not open, I at least had the right lane to use but after the road was widened this practice has stopped.
However, traffic queuing up to Subang Jaya/USJ has increased since and Kesas has now reintroduced contra-flow again. However, this time around the contra flow is opened with no fixed timing and no plastic cones at the right lane for the KL bound traffic.
My predicament is when the contra flow is not open coupled with no dedicated lanes towards the KL bound toll plaza, I am blocked by queue jumping vehicles who want to exit at the Subang Jaya/USJ exit.
I have called the Kesas office many times but all I get are flimsy excuses. After the Subang Jaya/USJ exit, it is smooth sailing but imagine the crawl I have to endure before the toll. Am I paying for the crawl behind or the ease of driving ahead of me?
