Dear Dr M.A. Nair,

how do i get in touch with retired English teachers. I might require a few teachers to conduct training sessions for maths and science teachers in rural schools. Tks. Mark

Answer to Food crisis by Jordan Tan 13-05-08
The whole philosophy and approach towards the challenge of food crisis as propagated by the existing chemical crazy multinational corporation is flaw to begin with.
Instead of working in harmony with nature, it is going against natural laws as intended by The Creator.
Why the existence of pests in the agricultural ecology is regarded as an enemy of food production?
We have to change our hostile attitude towards the living organism of whatever kind and species including “pests” as part of wisdom of God’s creation introduce for a divine purpose.
What is that divine purpose?
Pests are unpaid quality controller of the food crops we cultivate for our survival.
Pests only attack minerals deficient, sick and deformed food crops and not healthy ones.
Herbicides, pesticides are toxins permissively spray in the name of increasing yield by destroying weeds and pests which are our guardians to safe guard soil erosion and up keeping the quality of crops produced for our consumption.
The massive amount of chemical fertilizers used by agricultural producers of stable crops and grains is one of the main causes of outbreak locust epidemic and out of control multiplication of certain pests. It is nature ‘s respond to bigger acreages of poorly
Grown and sick plant unfit for human consumption.
The answer to food crisis is to take good care of the soil organisms which contribute towards healthy plants which are resistant to disease and pests.
Take a good look at a tall, good looking and healthy and majesty tree in the forest, what
Chemical fertilizer and pest control does it get from nature?
Nothing!
The tree’s own fallen leaves and the birds that rest in its braches contributed towards the humus and compost from jungle animals contribute towards the minerals needs of the mighty trees. Why can anti God chemicals crazy multinational see this simple logic in producing healthy trees or crops see the wisdom of nature Science in producing enough food for our need??
Another example is to take a drive of one and half hours from Sungai Besi toll to Titi eco Farm in Negeri Sembilan . There is not a single molecule of poisonous chemical used to kill pest, nor a single grain of artificial fertilizer to enrich its soil. The farm is producing healthy vegetables, fruit trees and herbs.
The real motive of the big corporation in the name of producing
More food and increasing crops yield using gene manipulation and GM seed is to control the developing nation’s seed bank and make the world population who need to eat into economic slaves.
Monoculture crops from a single species , sustain by high dose of chemical fertilizer and indiscriminatingly killing off natural guardian pest, and poisoning the soil organism is a perfect recipe for a man-made disaster in food crisis.
All the talk about GM seeds and high hope of improve yield will come to nothing without the shower from heaven called rain in due season, there is nothing to feed hungry mouth when there is a drought.
For man’s continue existence and long term survival depend on the six inches of top soil and the fact that it rains.

The article written by S.M. MOHAMED IDRIS (for Consumers Association of Penang and Sahabat Alam Malaysia) in reply to my 1st article (published in the NST 18 April 2008) lacks international scientific support and logic.

He relies on a single report that he himself knew was not representative of the world scientific community across the board.

As stated in my 1st article, and i repeat here again for the sake of clarity and fair comment, that 'the public must be given a choice to decide for themselves and consumerism efforts, if any, lies in promoting fair public education and awareness.'

I am still of the opinion that GMCs provides a 'viable answer' to world hunger and food shortages.

Dear Editor,

I’m really frustrated with the National Registration Department in handling my matter.

Two years ago, I noticed that my religion in MyCard was wrongly printed as “Islam” when I applied for MyCard. I am a Chinese born Christian. I was baptized since I was a baby and have been practicing and going to church since then till today. My family members are all Chinese born Christians. When I went to the NRD to change my incorrect MyCard, they asked me to go to the Syariah court to verify. Why on earth should I go the Syariah court when in the first place I AM NOT A MUSLIM AT ALL! This mistake only happened when I made my MyCard, as per the Government’s request for all of us to change to the new system. This mistake was done by the NRD, so shouldn’t they shoulder the responsibility?

However illogical their suggestion may be, I assumed that maybe due to some existing procedure, the Syariah court’s involvement was necessary. As such, I seek for advice from a lawyer and compile all my details. I’ve submitted all the details to them when I applied to change my incorrect MyCard in October 2007. It has been 8 months and there is still no outcome to my problem.

I’ve tried to call them every week and no one picked up the line. Is there anyone working at the NRD? Even if there is someone who picked up the phone, they will always tell me that they will look into the matter. They asked me to wait and wait and wait. How long must I wait? It is their mistake that I have to face using a MyCard which is NOT MINE AT ALL because the religion stated is wrong!
